A Picture Perfect Day!
It was a picture perfect day for the thousands that turned out to view 123rd Pasadena Rose Parade on Monday, which is normally held on January 1, however keeping in line with the Tournament of Rose’, Never on a Sunday tradition. In 1893, the first the then-3-year-old parade would have fallen on a Sunday, officials decided it would be best to avoid interfering with Sunday worship services and instituted a policy of moving events to January 2 whenever January 1 fell on a Sunday. The last time the “Never on a Sunday” policy was in effect was 2006.
